Scholarships and Awards


The International Ambassador Alumni Society (IAAS) and members of the Passport Club have several exclusive scholarship and award opportunities. To view the 2007 winners, click here. This year we are awarding up to $100,000 towards the tuition of a future program or college tuition.

Scholarship applications will be available August 15 (unless otherwise noted). Applications must be postmarked by November 15 and recipients will be announced December 14 (unless otherwise noted). Please call our program office at 866-816-6597 if you have any questions.

The following awards are available to all 2008 Student Ambassador and Sports Ambassador alumni:

Annual Ambassador Awards – Awards of $500 to $1500 in 2009 tuition are granted to alumni for a variety of creative endeavors. Submissions are judged on originality, creativity, clarity, and a positive portrayal of our programs. All entries must be submitted or postmarked by September 15, 2008.

Alumni Attendance Award
One full tuition scholarship for the Student Ambassador Program* is being awarded to an alum who attends a local information meeting. Please refer to your invitation letter or contact the program office at 866-816-6597 to determine when and where your local information meeting is taking place. Become eligible by turning in your invitation letter or sign in at the registration table.

The scholarship winner will be posted online on December 15th, 2008.
*Details for the Sports Ambassador scholarship will be available this fall.

The following scholarships are exclusively available to Passport Club members:

Alumni Achiever—Members share how they have impacted the lives of others through community service for a chance to receive one of several scholarships.

Alumni Scholar—Members share how they have excelled academically, through extracurricular activities and in leadership roles.

Essay Contest—This fall we will be awarding college scholarships or program tuition based on essays on the following experience-based topic: How can you use your People To People experience to affect and motivate those around you?

Letters of Participation College Scholarship—We are offering a $2000 college scholarship to 5 Passport Club members who requested letters of participation this year for their college application. These will be awarded by random drawing.

Exclusive Itinerary Scholarship—We are offering a $1000 program tuition scholarship to 5 delegates enrolled on a Passport Club itinerary. Awards will be granted by random drawing for all those enrolled.

2007 Scholarship Winners

With so many amazing entries, choosing the scholarship recipients was a tough decision for the selection committee. These outstanding alumni are being honored for their submissions and continuing effort to promote peace, friendship and understanding. The awards can be applied to future People to People program tuition or to college tuition at the institution of the winner’s choice.

Ambassadors who have reached the unique status of traveling to all 7 continents, or having traveled 7 times with People to People are to be commended for a great commitment to the mission of People to People.
